As CQDM’s key initiative, the Quantum Leap Funding Program was created to help small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and Canadian universities with funding to work on cutting-edge, innovative pharmaceutical research projects with the overall goal of discovering cleaner and more efficient drug options.

Apply for This Funding Program
Give your application the best chance of approval. Ryan supports the writing of applications for more than 100 Canadian federal and provincial government grants, tax credits, and no-interest loan programs.
Amount of Funding
- Up to 50-66% funding to a maximum of $1.2 million;
- Funding may consist in a grant and/or investment; and
- Applications exceeding the maximum funding request may be considered on an exceptional basis.
Eligible Applicants
Applicants may be eligible if they meet the following requirements:
- Small or medium-sized enterprises (SME) in Canada and fewer than 500 employees; and
- Public Research Institutions in Canada.
Eligible Activities
Projects may be eligible if they meet the following requirements:
- TRL – The technologies of interest can be at any stage of the drug development process and involve a wide range of therapeutic indications;
- Drug discovery research to significantly improve, facilitate and/or accelerate the drug discovery process and the development of safer and more effective drugs;
- Quantum Leap projects are executed in close collaboration and with the expert support and funds of pharmaceutical members;
- Projects are associated with specific deliverables and must be ready for use by CQDM pharmaceutical members upon completion; and
- For scientists, the funded research opens new collaboration opportunities with world-class stakeholders in the industry.
