Strategic Response Fund (SRF)

Access Fast-Track Funding for Tariff and Trade-Exposed Industries

The Strategic Response Fund (SRF) is a newly launched Canadian government funding program focused on protecting and strengthening industries most affected by global trade disruptions and tariff pressures. It provides financial contributions to help businesses maintain operations, retool production, and reinforce supply chains. Support levels are determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on project scope and urgency, with the goal of delivering rapid funding that safeguards jobs and accelerates Canada’s industrial resilience.

Unlike long-horizon programs, SRF is structured for agility. Projects should align with one of the fund’s key focus areas:

  1. Tariff Response and Relief – Assisting sectors hit hardest by U.S. and international tariffs.
  2. Domestic Supply Chain Strengthening – Securing critical production capacity within Canada.
  3. Market Diversification – Supporting businesses expanding into non-U.S. markets.
  4. Productivity and Value-Added Manufacturing – Retooling and upgrading operations to remain competitive.
  5. Strategic Industrial Resilience – Ensuring Canada retains leadership in sectors vital to long-term prosperity.
