The Alberta – SCAP – Value-Added Program invests in projects that expand market opportunities, increase company sales, and create jobs in order to diversify and grow Alberta’s value-added food and bioindustry processors.

Give your application the best chance of approval. Ryan supports the writing of applications for more than 100 Canadian federal and provincial government grants, tax credits, and no-interest loan programs.

Amount of Funding

The Program has 2 streams:

Stream A:

  • Applications are assessed based on eligibility criteria; and
  • Receive up to a maximum amount of $50,000.

Stream B:

  • Applications are assessed based on eligibility criteria and merit scoring; and
  • Receive up to a maximum amount of $250,000.

For both streams:

  • Capital expense capped at 25%; and
  • Non-Capital expenses capped at 50% up to a max. of $50,000 including Travel expenses capped at $5,000.

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for this program, applicants must meet this criteria:

  • Be a Processor;
  • Be an individual or a corporation registered in Alberta that is operating in Alberta;
  • For Stream B, have $100,000 or greater in global annual gross sales; and
  • Not have applied to the Emerging Opportunities Program for the same expense.
Accessible Technology Program (ATP)

Eligible Activities

Applicants can apply for activities under one or more of these funding categories:

  • Processing Capacity Expansion;
  • Food Safely Improvement;
  • New Product and Process Development; and
  • Market Development and Access.
