The Ontario Automotive Modernization Program (O-AMP) is an Ontario government funding program that supports Ontario automotive parts manufacturers as they invest in new hardware/software technologies and lean methodology to improve their operational efficiency and competitiveness.

Up to 50% funding to a maximum of $150,000 grant per project.

Eligible Applicants

Eligible Applicants

  • Small- to medium-sized manufacturers within Ontario in the automotive supply chain to OEMs. Distributors are ineligible;
  • Less than 500 full-time payroll employees;
  • Less than $1 billion in annual revenue (Large companies are eligible but must partner with another SME automotive supplier);
  • At least 50% of sales must be derived from the automotive sector; and
  • A minimum of two years of financial statements; and
  • Past recipients of O-AMP funding must complete their project prior to a new application.
Accessible Technology Program (ATP)

Eligible Activities

Projects eligible for funding must fall within one of the following two categories. Equipment is ineligible. Applicants must have proper financing, project management structure, and experience to implement the project:

  • Technology Adoption: The implementation of new software and related hardware (eg. ERP systems, virtual machining software) to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and production sophistication; and
  • Lean Manufacturing: Adoption of Industry 4.0 or lean manufacturing processes by either implementing lean principles or hiring a third party certified consultant to help with lean implementation.
