Alberta Innovates offers the Product Demonstration Program to businesses located in Alberta that have commercialization-ready, innovative technology in the industries of: energy, environment, nanotechnology, information and communication services, health, and life sciences such as forestry, agriculture and biotechnology.

Amount of Funding
Successful applicants for the PDP program may receive up to 50% to maximum of $150,000 in a matching contribution to total eligible costs.
Eligible Applicants
Applicants may be eligible if they meet the following criteria:
- Are a Small and medium sized enterprise (SME) that is for-profit (less than 500 employees and $50 million in annual revenues);
- There is no conflict of interest between the applicant and their partner;
- Is an Alberta-based organization;
- Is financially capable of making the required applicant contribution; and
- Is a legal entity in good financial standing with Alberta Innovates and their subsidiaries.
Eligible Activities
All projects must meet these requirements to be approved for funding by Alberta Innovates:
- Can demonstrate a significant product pilot that has a simple acceptance criteria;
- Has at least one product pilot strategic partner;
- Will finish the product pilot within one year of project approval;
- A project plan will be outlined upon approval with identifiable milestones;
- Demonstrate that the product is highly likely to be purchased for or distributed by any strategic partners within 1.5 years of project acceptance; and
- Product must be at a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7, 8, or 9.
