The Canada Growth Fund will fund business activities focusing on three main areas: Reducing emissions across Canada, scaling technology companies that are currently demonstrating or commercializing less mature technologies, and ecological and climate-friendly companies and projects in the low-carbon or climate-tech value chain.

Amount of Funding
Among the tools Canada Growth Fund will have is the ability to offer innovative concessional financing instruments, including those that combine above-market risk with the flexibility to earn below-market returns, thus distinguishing CGF from:
- Proponents who receive funding through grants and contributions; and
- Proponents who are provided with commercial financing on a market-based basis.

Eligible Activities
Business activities that may be eligible for funding from the Canada Growth Fund will focus on three main areas:
- Reducing emissions across Canada with technologies and processes that are less mature. These include, but are not limited to:
- Carbon capture,
- Utilization and storage; and
- Hydrogen and biofuels.
- Scaling technology companies that are currently demonstrating or commercializing less mature technologies; and
- Ecological and climate-friendly companies and projects in the low-carbon or climate-tech value chain, including low-carbon natural resource development.
