The Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (SCAP) Research and Innovation Program supports the development of science-based solutions and tools that address known challenges, prepare for potential disruptions and climate threats, and capture emerging opportunities in the agriculture and agri-food sector. This can include the development of new technologies and practices, new products, and the advancement of knowledge.

Give your application the best chance of approval. Ryan supports the writing of applications for more than 100 Canadian federal and provincial government grants, tax credits, and no-interest loan programs.

  • Basic & Applied – creating IP: 70:30 up to $100K and 60:40 on remaining amount over $100K.
  • Basic & Applied – no IP created: 50:50.
  • Capacity Building – 50:50.
Eligible Applicants

Eligible Applicants

Eligible Applicants include:

  • Agri-processors;
  • Indigenous Government/Indigenous individuals, businesses, communities, and organizations, other Indigenous groups undertaking agricultural initiatives;
  • Industry Organizations;
  • Primary Producers;
  • Research Institutions; or
  • Service Providers.

Project Focus Areas include:

  • Agri-resource management;
  • Economic and market analysis;
  • Grain innovation and crop production;
  • Livestock production; and
  • Processing and value-added.
Accessible Technology Program (ATP)

Eligible Activities

Eligible Activities include:

  • Stream 1 – Basic & Applied Research: includes basic discovery research that seeks to expand knowledge and projects that attempt to find practical solutions for specific problems.
  • Stream 2 – Capacity Building: includes only the purchase of research equipment ($10,000 or greater) and equipment specific training to help build research and innovation capacity in Manitoba.
