In southern Ontario, the Regional Quantum Initiative (RQI) helps companies develop and market quantum products and solutions for domestic and international markets. The RQI builds on the FedDev Ontario quantum investments to further accelerate the development of the sector and drive product development in this world-class quantum ecosystem.

Apply for This Funding Program

Give your application the best chance of approval. Ryan supports the writing of applications for more than 100 Canadian federal and provincial government grants, tax credits, and no-interest loan programs.

Amount of Funding

Amount of Funding

  • Up to 50% of total project costs with contributions between $500,000 – $5 million. Contributions are interest-free and fully repayable; and
  • Funding can cover up to 6 years, ending no later than Dec 31, 2027.
Eligible Applicants

Eligible Applicants

Applicants may be eligible if they meet these eligibility critieria:

  • SME Businesses;
  • Located in in Southern Ontario;
  • Own, have a license for, or have secured rights to the IP for the project; and
  • Preference given to companies that have demonstrated positive market traction and received support from Quantum ecosystem.

Eligible Activities

Demonstration, commercialization, business development, capacity building, and technology development projects. Potential areas of Quantum tech include:

  • Quantum computers
  • Quantum software
  • Quantum sensors
  • Quantum communications
  • Quantum materials
