The Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (C/AV) & Smart Mobility Program supports connected and autonomous vehicle (C/AV) development, testing, validation, and demonstration projects. These automotive grants are designed to improve Ontario’s road safety and condition monitoring systems, transportation data analysis, and partnerships with public and private collaborators.

Give your application the best chance of approval. Ryan supports the writing of applications for more than 100 Canadian federal and provincial government grants, tax credits, and no-interest loan programs.

Amount of Funding

Amount of Funding

A maximum of $1,000,000 in funding can be provided over a maximum 24-month period through this stream. The applicant and/or the private sector are required to match each other’s funds by a minimum of 2:1.

Eligible Applicants

Eligible Applicants

Applicants and their partners may be eligible for this program if they meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants are SMEs, having fewer than 500 full-time employees; and
  • Must have operations in Ontario and carry out their project in Ontario.

Applicants must initiate a project with at least one partner. No limit to the amount of partners. Projects must showcase that they can stimulate potential commercial opportunities. Partners can be:

  • Academic institutions;
  • SME’s;
  • National or multinational enterprises;
  • Municipalities;
  • Indigenous communities; and
  • More.
Accessible Technology Program (ATP)

Eligible Activities

For projects to be eligible through this program, they must meet the following criteria:

  • It is not intended for this program to conduct a feasibility study or basic technology research. There should be a range of 3-9 Technology Readiness Levels for a project;
  • Typical project activities include testing, validation, and piloting;
  • In order for the partnership and applicant to be successful, they must have strong collaboration, scalable outcomes that can be commercialized, a competitive advantage, and be aligned with the program’s goals;
  • It is required that projects display actual products at events, on the road, through partnerships, and/or at customer locations within Ontario in order to qualify.
