Alberta Aviation Skills Grant (ASG)
Receive up to $3M in Aviation Industry Training Funding.
Through the Aviation Skills Grant, employers in the aviation industry can offset training costs to help fill jobs, address skills gaps, and support the expansion of Alberta’s aviation and aerospace workforce.
Amount of Funding
Amount of Funding
- $3M for employers with more than 3,000 employees in Alberta;
- $500,000 for employers with between 500 and 3,000 employees in Alberta; and
- $300,000 for employers with less than 500 employees in Alberta.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible Applicants
Eligible employers must:
- have an Alberta mailing address and operate in Alberta;
- be incorporated, registered, or established under provincial and federal legislation for at least one year;
- be in good standing within the province of Alberta; and
- provide safe working conditions.
Eligible trainees include:
- new hires or existing employees;
- Canadian citizens;
- permanent residents or protected persons under the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act who are legally entitled to work in Canada; and
- someone living or intending to live in Alberta after completing training.
Accessible Technology Program (ATP)
Eligible Activities
Eligible training must meet the following:
- Be for full-time or part-time jobs that require skills specific to aviation and aerospace;
- Result in skills development for employees going into a new and/or unfilled job;
- Employees who have been in their role for 12 months or less will be considered as being in a new and/or unfilled job; and
- Take place in Alberta.
Eligible Costs may include:
- Third-party instructor fees, training costs and course costs;
- Proprietary in-house training costs;
- Textbooks, software, and other required materials; and
- Other costs associated with the training at the discretion of the Alberta government.
