Agriculture Labour Task Force Grant Program (ALTF)
Receive up to $40,000 for Agriculture Hiring and Training.
Through two streams and a total of $2.5 million in funding allocated, the Agriculture Labour Task Force Grant Program (ALTF) will provide up to a maximum of $40,000 in grants per eligible business to help agri-business companies recruit, hire, and retain workers in the agriculture and agri-food industry.

Funding Amount
Eligible applicants can receive 80% up to max. of $40,000 from Stream 1 and/or 90% up to a max. of $30,000 from Stream 2.
Eligible Applicants
Must be an organization licensed to operate in Alberta; Can be Agri-Food Processors; Can be Primary Producers; Can be Industry Organizations.
Eligible Activities
For Stream 1: Increase public and job seeker awareness of agriculture and agri-food processing to promote industry awareness, including social media campaigns focused on highlighting the career opportunities in the agriculture sector. For Stream 2: Allow companies to secure training to improve human resource business skills to attract and retain workers and reduce turnover.
Amount of Funding
Stream 1: Improve Awareness of Agriculture and Agri-food Related Careers
Aims to Increase public and job-seeker awareness of agriculture and agri-food processing to promote industry awareness.
Funding Amount:
- 80% up to maximum of $40,000
Stream 2: Support the Improvement of Human Resources Practices and Capacity
Provides qualified applicants with funds to engage facilitators who will coach business owners on best practices in human resources.
Funding Amount:
- 90% up to a maximum of $30,000

For both ALTF streams, applicants:
- Must be an organization licensed to operate in Alberta
- Can be Agri-Food Processors
- Can be Primary Producers
- Can be Industry Organization

Aims to Increase public and job-seeker awareness of agriculture and agri-food processing to promote industry awareness.
Eligible Activities & Expenses:
- Increase public and job seeker awareness of agriculture and agri-food processing to promote industry awareness, including social media campaigns focused on highlighting the career opportunities in the agriculture sector.
- Promotion of job opportunities in individual companies.
- This funding is for the attraction of domestic workers.
- Consulting fees paid to a third-party consultant to complete eligible activities.
Stream 2: Support the Improvement of Human Resources Practices and Capacity
Provides qualified applicants with funds to engage facilitators who will coach business owners on best practices in human resources.
