The Responsive Advancement for Meat Processing (RAMP) program promotes the development of a meat sector supply chain as part of the agri-food industry in the region by providing new technologies, equipment, and/or materials.

Eligible Applicants
To be eligible for funding through this program applicants must be:
- Provincially or federally inspected abattoirs and free-standing meat processing plants located in Northern Ontario;
- Start-ups and existing businesses are eligible; and
- Start-up businesses must provide a business plan.
Accessible Technology Program (ATP)
Eligible Activities
A project may be eligible for funding under this program if it follows these themes:
- Developing new commercial processing facilities. Materials and equipment, such as building materials and processing equipment;
- Businesses that adopt clean technologies, focus on waste reduction, or reduce their ecological footprint. The technology of waste reduction, the reduction of water usage, and the efficiency of cooling are examples of waste reduction technology;
- Vacuum packing equipment, packaging equipment are some examples of projects which can assist meat processors in creating new value-added products that will increase market share;
- Automated meat processing equipment or equipment that increases efficiencies;
- Efficiencies and safety improvements in distribution systems to enhance productivity, such as cold storage, trailers, and crates;
- Updated tracking systems and communications projects; and
- The equipment or infrastructure necessary for modernizing plants in accordance with regulations.
