GIFMP Industrial Facility Track: Canada’s New Clean Energy Grant Intake

As part of Canada’s goal to meet climate change goals and reduce net carbon emissions, the government has implemented a variety of funding programs. Among projects deemed top priority is retrofitting Canadian manufacturing facilities with new systems and infrastructure to reduce overall greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The Green Industrial Facilities Manufacturing Program (GIFMP) is one program that provides support for these business activities.   

The GIFMP Industrial Facility Track (IFT) unlocks a suite of financial tools to help industrial facilities cut energy use, trim GHG emissions, and boost competitiveness. Eligible applicants can access up to 50% of eligible costs (up to 100% for Indigenous or nonprofit organizations), from a minimum of $40,000 to a maximum of $5 million per proposal.  

The new intake for the GIFMP IFT funding applications opened on Thursday, August 14, 2025, and will close on Friday, September 26, 2025. If your Canadian manufacturing business is ready to invest in efficiency upgrades, this government funding program can help with your growth and innovation.

• Covers up to 50% of eligible costs (up to $5 million per proposal)

• Training energy management practitioners
