Alberta Innovates – Voucher Program
Receive up to $10k to $100k in Government Funding.
The Alberta Innovates Voucher Program, offered by Alberta Innovates, offsets a portion of costs related to technology development and building a working prototype. Funding is awarded as a voucher, which companies can use to pay product/service providers for their contributions towards the project, including labour and materials.

Give your application the best chance of approval. Ryan supports the writing of applications for more than 100 Canadian federal and provincial government grants, tax credits, and no-interest loan programs.
Amount of Funding
Successful applicants may access vouchers to offset $10,000 to $100,000 in products or services received to accelerate technology development projects. This program may cover the costs of up to three service providers. It is important to note that the applicant of the program must pay a minimum of 25% of the contribution of total project costs in cash.
Eligible Applicants
To be an eligible applicant, businesses must be a small or medium sized enterprise (SME) with a physical presence in Alberta, as well as:
- Be for-profit;
- Prove their is zero conflict of interest between the Applicant and Service Provider;
- Is a company with <500 Full Time employees, and <$50,000,000 in annual gross revenues;
- Is a legal entity incorporated in Alberta; and
- Is in good financial standing with Alberta Innovates, as well as any of AI’s subsidiaries.
Eligible Activities
Projects should be the following to be eligible for funding:
- Have identifiable “go/no go” milestones;
- The project must be fully finished within a two year window; and
- Adhere to any other Alberta Innovates criteria that may arise.
Moreover; Research, development, testing, and refinement to an innovation with a TRL of 3-6. Projects should result in the development of a pre-commercial technology
Program Deadline
Voucher Program – Alberta Innovates accepts a continuous intake of applications. Application approvals take 6-8 weeks from date of submission.
